Purpose
- Anti-N-cadherin [8C11], Mouse IgG1, kappa
-
Specificity
- This antibody recognizes human, rabbit and hamster extracellular domain of N-cadherin. It does not cross react with this protein in mouse, rat cow and pig. N-cadherin is a calcium-dependent cell adhesion protein.

Application Notes
- 8C11 antibody inhibits cells' motility, as it blocks extracellular domain of N-cadherin which is responsible for this function (Kim et al., 2000). This antibody has also been widely used in the detection and analysis of N-cadherin. For instance, it was utilized to identify this protein in A549 cells via immunofluorescence (Shintani et al., 2011). Another group used successfully 8C11 to analyze the levels of N-cadherin expression via Western blot (Chen et al., 2015). Finally, this antibody was used to label N-cadherin in tumor tissues of a metastasis model via immunohistochemistry (Li et al., 2019).
