Specificity: This antibody binds CD56, present on large granular lymphocytes including natural killer cells. This antibody does not react with monocytes, granulocytes, B cells, erythrocytes, or platelets.

Application Details

Application Notes: This antibody does not block the natural killer cell activity and can be used to rapidly purify functional NK cells (PMID:6574190). This antibody was able to precipitate a band at approx. 200-250 kdalton protein in a immunoprecipitation assay. This antibody successfully blocked the binding of anti-NKH1A antibody in an indirect immunofluorescence assay (PMID:3884668). This antibody is also recommended to be used in the study of cell surface antigens of the natural cells (PMID: 3875369). Conjugate of DC1 with murine and humanizsed versions of N901 was found to be potent and effective in selective killing of target cells in culture (PMID: 7545085). THis antibody can also be used for the separation of natural killer cells in a flow cytometry (PMID: 15985539).
