Specificity:

This antibody is specific for amino acids 411-424 of human cytokeratin 20. Cytokeratins are intermediate filaments found in the intracytoplasmic cytoskeleton of epithelial tissue. There are 19 keratin polypeptides are found in human epithelium. Cytokeratin 20 plays a significant role in maintaining keratin filament organization in intestinal epithelia. When phosphorylated, it plays a role in the secretion of mucin in the small intestine.

Application Notes original Clone: This antibody can bind human cytokeratin 20 in an ELISA. It is also capable of detecting human cytokeratin 20 in a western blot assay. This antibody is similar to commercially available anti-Cytokeratin 20 antibody KS20.8 in staining various human tissues. This antibody was used in the immunohistochemical staining of paraffin sections of stomach, colon and colonic cancer tissues (CN109734805).

Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing female ICR mice with human CK20 peptide (amino acids 411-424) conjugated to KLH in equal volume of Freund's incomplete adjuvant.
