Purpose
- Biotin (Vitamin B7 or Vitamin H) (BTN/2032R), CF740 conjugate
-
Characteristics
- This antibody recognizes both the free and protein-conjugated (either soluble or cell bound) form of biotin. This MAb is highly specific to biotin and shows no cross-reaction with other structurally related compounds. It has a very high affinity for biotin and is excellent for use in various amplification techniques. In some applications, localization of biotinylated probes with avidin produces unacceptably high background staining. Anti-biotin antibody may be substituted to decrease this noise. Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF® Dyes and other labels. CF® Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Note: Conjugates of blue fluorescent dyes like CF®405S and CF®405M are not recommended for detecting low abundance targets, because blue dyes have lower fluorescence and can give higher non-specific background than other dye colors.

Application Notes
- Higher concentration may be required for direct detection using primary antibody conjugates than for indirect detection with secondary antibody. Flow cytometry: 0.5-1 μg/million cells. Immunofluorescence: 0.5-1 μg/mL. Immunohistology (formalin): 0.5-1 μg/mL for 30 minutes at RT. In situ Nucleic Acid Hybridization. No special pretreatment is required for the immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues.. Western blotting. Optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined by user
