    Purpose

    GLYR1 antibody (pAb)

    Purification

    Affinity Purified

    Immunogen

This antibody was raised against a peptide within the C-terminal region of human GLYR1.

    Isotype

    IgG
  • Application Notes

WB*: 0.5 - 2 μg/mL *Note: Many chromatin-bound proteins are not soluble in a low salt nuclear extract and fractionate to the pellet. Therefore, we recommend a High Salt / Sonication Protocol when preparing nuclear extracts for Western blot.

    Background

Background_Plain: GLYR1 / NDF (nucleosome-destabilizing factor) that is recruited to gene bodies during transcriptional activation and facilitates Pol II transcription through nucleosomes, where it is proposed to ""unzip"" chromatin during transcription, pushing the polymerase past pause points. It was discovered as a factor that allows p300 to acetylate Histone H3K56, which is normally an inaccessible residue for this modification. GLYR1 is shown to associate with a subset of highly transcribed genes tending to have longer mRNAs rather than shorter, and is also at a significant subset of loci containing the Histone H3K36me3. GLYR1 is expressed at high levels in most tissue types, including stem cells, and has been found to be overexpressed in breast cancer.
