Specificity: Recognizes mouse Connexin 31. Species sequence homology: shows 3 aa differences in rat Cx 31. The Cx31 peptide sequence does not significant homology with other known Connexins.

Immunogen: A 17 amino acid peptide sequence within the 1st cytoplasmic domain of the rat Cx31 (2) was used to generate anti-Mouse Cx31. Amino terminal Cysteine was added for conjugation to KLH (carrier protein).

Usage: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Western Blot: 1-10 μg/mL using ECL. An antibody raised against a GST-fusion has been shown to recognize ~31kD band in skin. Immunohistochemistry: 2-20 μg/mL in formaldehyde fixed tissues. ELISA: 1:100K using 50-100 ng CX31 control peptide/well.
