Background: A Disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 8 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ADAM8 gene. ADAM8 is localized to chromosome 10q26.3. This gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain) family. Members of the ADAM family, such as ADAM8, are cell surface proteases involved in remodeling of extracellular matrix, cell migration, and processing of membrane-bound signaling molecules. They are characterized by disintegrin and metalloprotease domains that confer adhesive properties and proteolytic activities, respectively. And the protein encoded by this gene may be involved in cell adhesion duringneurodegeneration.

    Gene Name: ADAM8

Production: Natural and recombinant human ADAM8. There is no detectable cross-reactivity with other relevant proteins.

Standard: Expression system for standard: NSO, Immunogen sequence: M1-P497

  • Application Notes

Application Note: Useful in Sandwich ELISA for Quantitative Detection of Antigen. Aliquot 0.1 mL per well of the 4000pg/mL, 2000pg/mL,1000pg/mL, 500pg/mL, 250pg/mL, 125pg/mL, 62.5pg/mL human ADAM8 standard solutions into the precoated 96-well plate. Add 0.1 mL of the sample diluent buffer into the control well (Zero well). Add 0.1 mL of each properly diluted sample of human cell culture supernates or serum to each empty well. It is recommended that each human ADAM8 standard solution and each sample be measured in duplicate.
