Protocol: Useful in Sandwich ELISA for Quantitative Detection of Antigen. Aliquot 0.1 mL per well of the 20000pg/mL, 10000pg/mL, 5000pg/mL, 2500pg/mL, 1250pg/mL, 625pg/mL, 312pg/mL human ICAM-2 standard solutions into the precoated 96-well plate. Add 0.1 mL of the sample diluent buffer into the control well (Zero well). Add 0.1 mL of each properly diluted sample of human cell culture supernates, tissue homogenates, serum or plasma( heparin, EDTA) to each empty well. It is recommended that each human ICAM-2 standard solution and each sample be measured in duplicate.

Background:

Background: Intercellular adhesion molecule 2 (ICAM2), also known as CD102 (Cluster of Differentiation 102) is an integral membrane protein that has 2 immunoglobulin-like domains. This gene is mapped to 17q23.3. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM) family. All ICAM proteins are type I transmembrane glycoproteins, contain 2-9 immunoglobulin-like C2-type domains, and bind to the leukocyte adhesion LFA-1 protein. This protein may play a role in lymphocyte recirculation by blocking LFA-1-dependent cell adhesion. It mediates adhesive interactions important for antigen-specific immune response, NK-cell mediated clearance, lymphocyte recirculation, and other cellular interactions important for immune response and surveillance.
