- Background
-
Synonyms: Cathelicidin, control peptide, blocking peptide
Background: LL-37 is a cleaved antimicrobial residue peptide of hCAP18 (human cationic antimicrobial protein, 18 kDa) in the family of cathelicidin. Cathelicidins are predominantly found in the peroxidase negative granules of neutrophils. And it has been shows broad antimicrobial activity towards gram negative and gram positive bacteria.
