    Comment

This is a synthetic peptide designed for use in combination with anti-HK2 Antibody(ARP54304_P050),. It may block above mentioned antibody from binding to its target protein in western blot and/or immunohistochecmistry under proper experimental settings. There is no guarantee for its use in other applications. Please inquire for more details.

    Hexokinase 2 (HK2)

    Background

Background Information: Hexokinases phosphorylate glucose to produce glucose-6-phosphate, thus committing glucose to the glycolytic pathway. HK2 (hexokinase 2) is the predominant form found in skeletal muscle. It localizes to the outer membrane of mitochondria. Expression of this protein is insulin-responsive, and studies in rat suggest that it is involved in the increased rate of glycolysis seen in rapidly growing cancer cells.
