Purpose
- Human Interleukin-10 Recombinant Protein (Animal Free)
-
Purification
- Interleukin-10 is produced with no animal-derived raw products, animal free equipment and animal free protocols. Purity was determined to be greater than 97% as determined by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE.
-
Endotoxin Level
- Endotoxin Level: Measured by LAL is typically ≤ 1 EU/μg protein.
-
Biological Activity Comment
- The activity is determined by the dose-dependant proliferation of mouse MC-9 cells and is typically less than 0.5 ng/mL.

Storage Comment
- Store vial at 4° C prior to restoration. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Maintain sterility. This product DOES NOT contain preservative. DO NOT VORTEX. We recommend adding a carrier protein such as HSA or BSA to 0.1% (i.e. 1.0 mg/mL). For best results aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or colder. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge vial before each opening to dislodge contents from the cap and to clarify if contents are not clear after standing at room temperature.

Background
-
Synonyms: B-TCGF, Cytokine synthesis inhibitory factor (CSIF), TGIF
Background: Interleukin 10 (IL-10) is an anti-inflammatory cytokine mainly produced by macrophages and Th2 cells. IL-10 functions by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines made by macrophages and regulatory T cells including, IFN-γ, TNF-α, IL-2, and IL-3, IL-4, and GM-CSF. IL-10 is also known to suppress antigen presentation on antigen presenting cells. While human IL-10 can act on murine cells, murine IL-10 cannot act on human cells. Recombinant human IL-10 is a non-glycosylated protein, containing 161 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 16.6 kDa.
