Reconstitution: Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. It is recommended to resuspend at 0.5 mg/mL if the lyophilized powder is 100 μg or less, at 1 mg/mL for 500 μg or 1 mg lyophilized powder. Do not mix by vortex or vigorous shaking.

Buffer: Lyophilized from 0.22μm filtered solution in PBS ( pH 7.4). Normally 8 % trehalose is added as protectant before lyophilization.

Background: Latent TGF beta 1 cDNA encodes a 390 amino acid precursor that contains a 29 aa signal peptide and a 361 aa proprotein. A furin-like convertase processes the proprotein to generate an N-terminal 249 aa latency-associated peptide (LAP) and a C-terminal 112 aa mature TGF- beta 1. Disulfide-linked homodimers of LAP and TGF- beta 1 remain non-covalently associated after secretion, forming the small latent TGF- beta 1 complex.

Molecular Weight: 44.2 kDa. Due to glycosylation, the protein migrates to 40-50 kDa (LAP) / 13-15 kDa (Mature TGF beta 1) based on Bis-Tris PAGE result.
