    Handling Advice

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, keep on ice when not in storage

    Storage

    -80 °C

    Storage Comment

Recombinant proteins in solution are temperature sensitive and must be stored at -80°C to prevent degradation. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.

    Background

Protein Background: YWHAB (14-3-3 protein beta/alpha) is a member of the highly conserved 14-3-3 family of proteins which mediate signal transduction by binding to phosphoserine-containing proteins. Adapter protein implicated in the regulation of a large spectrum of both general and specialized signaling pathways. Binds to a large number of partners, usually by recognition of a phosphoserine or phosphothreonine motif. Binding generally results in the modulation of the activity of the binding partner. Negative regulator of osteogenesis. Blocks the nuclear translocation of the phosphorylated form (by AKT1) of SRPK2 and antagonizes its stimulatory effect on cyclin D1 expression resulting in blockage of neuronal apoptosis elicited by SRPK2. Negative regulator of signaling cascades that mediate activation of MAP kinases via AKAP13.

Short Description: Recombinant YWHAB protein that includes full length of human YWHAB protein (accession number NP_003395.1) was expressed in E. coli and contains an N-terminal His tag with a molecular weight of 30.25 kDa. The purity of the protein is ≥ 95 % by SDS-PAGE.
