Purpose
- Recombinant EEF1B2 protein
-
Characteristics
- EEF1B2 (Eukaryotic Translation Elongation Factor 1 Beta 2), also called EEF1B, is specifically transcribed in fetal brain and in skeletal muscle. It is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor involved in the transfer of aminoacylated tRNAs to the ribosome. EF-1-beta (EEF1B2) and EF-1-delta (EEF1D) stimulate the exchange of GDP bound to EF-1-alpha (EEF1A1/A2) to GTP. It may also mediate accelerated synthesis of free thiol-containing proteins in response to HC-induced oxidative stress by homocysteine (HC).

Protein Background: EEF1B2 (Eukaryotic Translation Elongation Factor 1 Beta 2), also called EEF1B, is specifically transcribed in fetal brain and in skeletal muscle. It is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor involved in the transfer of aminoacylated tRNAs to the ribosome. Short Description: Recombinant EEF1B2 protein was expressed in E.coli as the full length protein (accession number NP_001950.1) with an N-terminal 6xHis Tag. The molecular weight of the protein is 28.3 kDa.
