Background
-
Protein Background: FRK is a non-receptor tyrosine-protein kinase that negatively regulates cell proliferation and positively regulates PTEN protein stability through phosphorylation of PTEN on 'Tyr-336', which in turn prevents its ubiquitination and degradation, possibly by reducing its binding to NEDD4. This tyrosine kinase is a nuclear protein and may function during G1 and S phase of the cell cycle and suppress growth and may function as a tumor suppressor. Diseases associated with FRK include Co-Trimoxazole Allergy and Osseous Heteroplasia, Progressive.
Short Description: Recombinant FRK (208-505) protein that includes amino acids 208-505 of human FRK protein (accession number NP_002022.1) was expressed in a baculovirus expression system, and contains an N-terminal FLAG tag. The molecular weight of the protein is 36.5 kDa
Aliases: Fyn-related kinase, Rak
