Background
-
Protein Background: HASPIN (Histone H3 Associated Protein Kinase) is a serine/threonine-protein kinase that phosphorylates histone H3 at 'Thr-3' (H3T3ph) during mitosis. It may act through H3T3ph to both position and modulate activation of AURKB and other components of the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC) at centromeres to ensure proper chromatid cohesion, metaphase alignment and normal progression through the cell cycle.
Short Description: Recombinant GSG2 (470-798) / HASPIN protein that includes amino acids 470-798 of human GSG2 protein (accession number NP_114171.2) was expressed in a baculovirus expression system, and contains an N-terminal FLAG tag. The molecular weight of the protein is 38.7 kDa
Aliases: Histone H3 Associated Protein Kinase
