    Handling Advice

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, keep on ice when not in storage

    Storage

    -80 °C

    Storage Comment

Recombinant proteins in solution are temperature sensitive and must be stored at -80°C to prevent degradation. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.

    Alternative Name

    TSSK2

    Background

Protein Background: TSSK2 (Testis Specific Serine Kinase 2) is a testis-specific serine/threonine-protein kinase that is required during spermatid development and phosphorylates TSKS at 'Ser-288' and SPAG16. TSSK2 is involved in the late stages of spermatogenesis during the reconstruction of the cytoplasm. During spermatogenesis, TSSK2 is required for the transformation of a ring-shaped structure around the base of the flagellum originating from the chromatoid body. Diseases associated with TSSK2 include Hyperprolinemia, Type I and Combined D-2- And L-2-Hydroxyglutaric Aciduria.

Short Description: Recombinant TSSK2 protein was expressed in baculovirus expression system as the full length protein (accession number NP_443732.3) with a N-terminal FLAG tag. The molecular weight of the protein is 42.2 kDa.

Aliases: Testis Specific Serine Kinase 2
