Background

Protein Background: DNMT2 (tRNA (cytosine(38)-C(5))-methyltransferase), a member of the DNA methyltransferase superfamily, catalyzes the formation of 5-methylcytosine at position 38 in the anticodon loop of tRNAs DNMT2 regulates many cellular biological processes, especially the production of tRNA derived fragments and intergenerational transmission of paternal metabolic disorders to offspring. Moreover, DNMT2 is closely related to human cancers.
Short Description: Recombinant DNMT2 protein was expressed in a baculovirus expression system as the full length protein (accession number NP_004403.1) with an N-terminal FLAG tag. The molecular weight of DNMT2 is 45.9 kDa.
