- ENO2/NSE (ENO2) (Enolase 2 (Gamma, Neuronal) (ENO2))
-
Alternative Name
- NSE
-
Background
-
This gamma enolase is a glycolytic enzyme present in brain and neuroendocrine tissue. It is a dimer with subunits of molecular weight of 45 kDa. NSE is used to monitor tumour bulk and provides useful information in terms of metastatic activity. It is also used to monitor brain injuries, in conjunction with another brain protein, S100 Beta.
Description: Human brain.
Alternative Names: Enolase 2 gamma neuronal protein, Neural enolase protein, gamma enolase protein, gamma-enolase protein, Enolase2 protein, Neuron specific gamma enolase protein , Neuron specific enolase protein, Neuron Specific Enolase protein, Enolase 2 protein -
