Human Golgi Membrane Protein 1 (GOLM1) interaction partners

  1. Both gain- and loss-of-function studies determine that GOLM1 acts as a key oncogene (show RAB1A Proteins) by promoting HCC (show FAM126A Proteins) growth and metastasis.

  2. A cytokine QTL at the NAA35 (show MAK10 Proteins)-GOLM1 locus markedly modulated interleukin (IL)-6 (show IL6 Proteins) production in response to multiple pathogens and was associated with susceptibility to candidemia.

  3. knock-down of GP73 down-regulates HCV infection and replication in Huh7-MAVSR cells and primary human hepatocytes

  4. Studies indicate that golgi membrane protein 1 (GOLM1) may promote HCC (show FAM126A Proteins) by regulation of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR (show EGFR Proteins)) recycling, and suggest that therapeutic targeting of GOLM1 may be a potential strategy for combating hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC (show FAM126A Proteins)) metastasis.

  5. these studies revealed that GP73 promotes hepatitis C virus (HCV) secretion by directly mediating the interaction of ApoE (show APOE Proteins) with HCV replication complex through binding with HCV NS5A.

  6. Significantly higher serum levels of GP-73 and PIVKA-II were detected in the hepatocellular carcinoma patients than in controls.

  7. The critical role of GP73 in hepatocellular carcinoma invasion, epithelial-mesenchymal transition and metastasis

  8. Results show that overexpression of GP73 in hepatocellular carcinoma cell (HCC (show FAM126A Proteins)) line retrieved the expression of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT (show ITK Proteins)) markers, and promoted cell motility and invasion. High expression of GP73 was also found in HCC (show FAM126A Proteins) tissues with metastasis providing evidence for an important role of GP73 in HCC (show FAM126A Proteins) metastasis.

  9. Serum GP73 had limited diagnostic value for HBV-related liver cancer. The combined use of serum GP73 and AFP (show AFP Proteins) levels improved the diagnostic efficacy.

  10. GP73 enhances MMP-13 (show MMP13 Proteins) expression through cAMP responsive element binding protein (CREB (show CREB1 Proteins))-mediated transcription activation. Levels of GP73 and MMP-13 (show MMP13 Proteins) are increased and positively correlated in human HCC (show FAM126A Proteins) tissues. Augmented MMP-13 (show MMP13 Proteins) potentiates HCC (show FAM126A Proteins) cell metastasis.

Mouse (Murine) Golgi Membrane Protein 1 (GOLM1) interaction partners

  1. Gorasp2-/- mice suffered from spermatogenesis defects. Golgi morphology of spermatocytes was disturbed in Gorasp2-/- mice. GRASP55 interacted via PDZ-mediated interactions with JAMs.

  2. GRASP55 (show GORASP2 Proteins) responds to inflammasome stimulation, controls autophagy initiation and important for secretion of IL-1b (show IL1B Proteins) and IL-18 (show IL18 Proteins)

  3. In Atp7b (show ATP7B Proteins)(-/-) mice, GP73 mRNA was significantly elevated at 20-46 weeks of age, coincident with extensive hepatic inflammation and fibrosis.

Golgi Membrane Protein 1 (GOLM1) Protein Profile

Protein Summary

The Golgi complex plays a key role in the sorting and modification of proteins exported from the endoplasmic reticulum. The protein encoded by this gene is a type II Golgi transmembrane protein. It processes proteins synthesized in the rough endoplasmic reticulum and assists in the transport of protein cargo through the Golgi apparatus. The expression of this gene has been observed to be upregulated in response to viral infection. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described for this gene.
