  2. These data suggest that STAMP2 is required for prostate cancer progression and thus may serve as a novel therapeutic target.

  3. Our results show increased mRNA expression of STEAP4 and NGAL (show LCN2 Proteins) in human visceral adipose tissue in obese patients.

  5. three polymorphisms (rs8122, rs1981529 and rs34741656) of STAMP2 gene may be not related with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Xinjiang Uygur population

  6. STEAP4 was highly induced in human adipose cells differentiated in the presence of 1,25D.

  7. STAMP2 antagonizes HBx-mediated hepatocyte dysfunction, thereby protecting hepatocytes from hepatitis B virus gene expression.

  8. STEAP4 genetic variations are likely to be associated with obesity-related insulin (show INS Proteins) resistance in Uygur Chinese general population.

  9. STEAP4 is expressed on monocytes and neutrophils in peripheral blood of patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

  10. STEAP4 might potentially suppress the pathogenesis of TNFalpha (show TNF Proteins)-induced arthritis such as rheumatoid arthritis.

  1. hepatic STAMP2 plays a pivotal role in preventing HFD-induced NAFLD and that STAMP2 overexpression improves hepatic steatosis and insulin resistance in NAFLD.

  2. Data show that high glucose increased protein-protein interaction between Steap4 and S100B (show S100B Proteins) in mesangial (MES13) cells.

  3. STAMP2 overexpression could exert a protective effect on diabetic atherosclerosis by reducing IR and diminishing macrophage apoptosis

  4. STAMP2 gene overexpression may improve insulin (show INS Proteins) resistance via regulating macrophage polarization in visceral and brown adipose tissues.

  5. Stamp1 (show STEAP2 Proteins) and Stamp2 play critical roles in adipogenesis, but through different mechanisms. [Stamp2, mouse]

  6. that Steap4, a member of the six-transmembrane epithelial antigen of prostate (Steap (show STEAP1 Proteins)) family proteins, is an endosomal ferrireductase with a critical role in cellular iron utilization in osteoclasts.

  7. TIARP acts as a negative regulator of arthritis by suppressing IL-6 (show IL6 Proteins) production, its signaling and TNFalpha (show TNF Proteins)-induced NF-kappaB (show NFKB1 Proteins) signaling, resulting in enhanced apoptosis in macrophages.

  8. Stamp2 is detected in mouse and human atherosclerotic plaques, and its deficiency promotes atherosclerosis in mice.

  9. analysis of the regulation of hepatic six transmembrane epithelial antigen of prostate 4 (STEAP4) expression by STAT3 (show STAT3 Proteins) and CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein alpha (show CEBPA Proteins)

STEAP4 Protein Profile

Protein Summary

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the STEAP (six transmembrane epithelial antigen of prostate) family, and resides in the golgi apparatus. It functions as a metalloreductase that has the ability to reduce both Fe(3+) to Fe(2+) and Cu(2+) to Cu(1+), using NAD(+) as acceptor. Studies in mice and human suggest that this gene maybe involved in adipocyte development and metabolism, and may contribute to the normal biology of the prostate cell, as well as prostate cancer progression. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
