Our study provides evidences that TRIM8 may participate in the carcinogenesis and progression of glioma and that the transcriptional repression of TRIM8 might have potential value for predicting poor prognosis in glioma patients.
These findings provide the first mechanistic link between TRIM8 and the drug resistance of clear cell Renal Cell Carcinoma (show MOK Antibodies)
Nucleo-cytoplasmic trafficking of TRIM8, a novel oncogene (show RAB1A Antibodies), is involved in positive regulation of TNF (show TNF Antibodies) induced NF-kappaB (show NFKB1 Antibodies) pathway.
TRIM8 is a p53 (show TP53 Antibodies) direct target gene that induces p53 (show TP53 Antibodies) stabilization and promotes the degradation of MDM2 (show MDM2 Antibodies) protein.
Tripartite motif 8 (TRIM8) modulates TNFalpha (show TNF Antibodies)- and IL-1beta (show IL1B Antibodies)-triggered NF-kappaB (show NFKB1 Antibodies) activation by targeting TAK1 (show MAP3K7 Antibodies) for K63-linked polyubiquitination.
TRIM8 modulates translocation of phosphorylated STAT3 into the nucleus through interaction with Hsp90beta and consequently regulates transcription of Nanog in embryonic stem cells.
These findings indicate that TRIM8 enhances the STAT3 (show STAT3 Antibodies)-dependent signal pathway by inhibiting the function of PIAS3 (show PIAS3 Antibodies).

TRIM8 has pro-inflammatory effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa -induced keratitis
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family. The TRIM motif includes three zinc-binding domains, a RING, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2, and a coiled-coil region. This protein localizes to nuclear bodies. Its structure is similar to some tumor suppressor proteins and its gene maps to a locus thought to contain tumor suppressor genes.
