Immunogen A cell suspension containing osteoclasts from osteoclastomas
Clone 22A5
Isotype IgG
Specificity This antibody recognizes the (Mr 150-170 kDa) cell surface glycoprotein expressed in a pan-myeloid fashion. This antibody also reacts with osteoclasts in giant cell tumors of bone (osteoclastoma), clear cell chondrosarcoma and aneurysmal bone cysts.
Cross-Reactivity (Details) Species reactivity (tested):Human.
Characteristics Synonyms: Aminopeptidase N, ANPEP, APN, PEPN, Alanyl aminopeptidase, Microsomalaminopeptidase, Aminopeptidase M, gp150, Myeloid plasma membrane glycoprotein CD13
Purification Protein G Chromatography.
Alternative Name CD13 (ANPEP Antibody Abstract)
Background CD13 also known as Aminopeptidase N is a zinc dependent exopeptidase which cleaves amino acids from the N-termini of target proteins including neuropeptides and cytokines. CD13 is expressed on all cells of the myeloid lineage as well as epithelial cells of the intestine, placenta, liver and kidney. CD13 is upregulated in a number of tumour types including lung, melanoma, thyroid and hepatocarcinoma and has been shown to correlate with poor prognosis. CD13 is a crucial molecule in tumour angiogenesis. CD13 is also the receptor for viruses from the coronavirus family.Synonyms: ANPEP, APN, Alanyl aminopeptidase, Aminopeptidase M, Aminopeptidase N, Microsomal aminopeptidase, Myeloid plasma membrane glycoprotein CD13, PEPN, gp150
Gene ID 290
UniProt P15144
Research Area Stem Cells, Hematopoietic Progenitors, CD Antigens, Surface Receptors of Immune Cells, Extracellular Matrix, Signaling
Application Notes Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry (acetone-fixed frozensections). We recommend using 1 μg to stain 1.0 x 10^6 cells in Flow Cytometric applications.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
