- This antibody is directed against the CD63 antigen which is expressed in platelet lysosomes and is translocated to the platelet surface upon activation with strong agonists. The antigen is also present in most peripheral blood cells( not erythrocytes) and in many tissues, both surface and cytoplasmatic locations are reported.

Background
- Glucose transporter 1 (or GLUT1), is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SLC2A1 gene. GLUT1 facilitates the transport of glucose across the plasma membranes of mammalian cells. GLUT1 is a type III integral protein with 12 hydrophobic segments, each of which is believed to form a membrane-spanning helix.
