Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the phospho Y140 & S156 of human Cofilin-1 (Cofilin, non-muscle isoform) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in rat, mouse and monkey.
Isotype IgG
Specificity Appears to be specific for Cofilin-1.
Purity IgG
Alternative Name Cofilin-1 (Cofilin, non-muscle isoform)
Background Function: Controls reversibly actin polymerization and depolymerization in a pH-sensitive manner. It has the ability to bind G- and F-actin in a 1:1 ratio of cofilin to actin. It is the major component of intranuclear and cytoplasmic actin rods.
Subcellular location: Nucleus matrix. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Note: Almost completely in nucleus in cells exposed to heat shock or 10% dimethyl sulfoxide.
Tissue specificity: Widely distributed in various tissues. Also known as: Cofilin, non-muscle isoform.
UniProt P23528
Application Notes IHC, WB. A concentration of 10-50 µg/ml is recommended. The optimal concentration should be determined by the end user. This antibody may also recognice the unphosphorylated form. Not tested in other applications.
