Immunogen Nerve growth factor receptor (TNFR superfamily, member 16)
Specificity Specific for rat p75NTR.
Purification Affinity purified
Alternative Name p75NTR (NGFR Antibody Abstract)
Background Function: Low affinity receptor which can bind to NGF, BDNF, NT-3, and NT-4. Can mediate cell survival as well as cell death of neural cells.
Subunit: Homodimer, disulfide-linked. Interacts with p75NTR-associated cell death executor. Interacts with NGFRAP1/BEX3. Interacts with TRAF2, TRAF4, TRAF6, PTPN13 and RANBP9. Interacts through TRAF6 with SQSTM1 which bridges NGFR to NTRK1. Interacts with BEX1.
Subcellular location: Membrane, Single-pass type I membrane protein. Also known as: TNR16, low-affinity nerve growth factor receptor, NGF receptor, Gp80-LNGFR, p75 ICD, low affinity neurotrophin receptor p75NTR, Tnfrsf16, Ngfr, p75, LNGFR, RNNGFRR.
Pathways NF-kappaB Signaling, Neurotrophin Signaling Pathway, Carbohydrate Homeostasis, Growth Factor Binding
Application Notes A working concentration of 5-15 µg/ml is recommended. This antibody is suitable for use in paraformaldehyde fixed, alcohol fixed and paraffin-embedded sections.
The optimal working solution should be determined by the end user.
Restrictions For Research Use only
Format Lyophilized
Reconstitution Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Storage 4 °C/-20 °C
Storage Comment Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Expiry Date 12 months
