More Proteins for CENPE Interaction Partners

Mouse (Murine) Centromere Protein E, 312kDa (CENPE) interaction partners

  1. Exacerbating chromosome missegregation in CENP-E+/- mice by reducing levels of another mitotic checkpoint component (show BUB3 Proteins), Mad2 (show MXI1 Proteins), results in elevated cell death and decreased tumor formation compared with reduction of either protein alone.

  2. CENP-E stabilises BubR1 (show BUB1B Proteins), thereby impacting meiosis I progression, and mediates bi-orientation by promoting kinetochore reorientation and preventing chromosomal drift towards the poles.

  3. results suggest that CENP-E is implicated in the spindle checkpoint, and in chromosome alignment, during the two meiotic divisions in vertebrate males

  4. Deletion of the mouse gene CENP-E causes unstable kinetochore-microtubule capture and chromosomal instability. (CENP-E)

  5. Shugoshin 2 is necessary for the loading of MCAK (show KIF2C Proteins) at the inner centromere, but is dispensable for the loading of the outer kinetochore proteins BubR1 (show BUB1B Proteins) and CENP-E.

Human Centromere Protein E, 312kDa (CENPE) interaction partners

  1. these results support a novel function of XAB2 (show XAB2 Proteins) in mitotic cell cycle regulation, which is partially mediated by transcription regulation on CENPE.

  2. CTCF (show CTCF Proteins) helps recruit CENP-E to the centromere during mitosis and that it may do so through a structure stabilized by the CTCF (show CTCF Proteins)/CENP-E complex.

  3. Chromokinesin Kid and kinetochore kinesin CENP-E differentially support chromosome congression without end-on attachment to microtubules.

  4. CENP-Q - a subunit of the CENP-O complex (comprising CENP-O, CENP-P, CENP-Q and CENP-U) that targets polo-like kinase (Plk1) to kinetochores - is also required for the recruitment of CENP-E to kinetochores.

  5. CENP-E-driven chromosome congression is guided by microtubule detyrosination.

  6. CENP-E expression is highest in basal-like subtype among breast cancer patients.

  7. An unexpected role of CENP-E elongated stalk in ensuring stability of kinetochore-microtubule attachments during chromosome congression and segregation.

  8. dynein and CENP-E at kinetochores drive congression of peripheral polar chromosomes by preventing arm-ejection forces mediated by chromokinesins from working in the wrong direction.

  9. Mutations in CENPE define a novel kinetochore-centromeric mechanism for microcephalic primordial dwarfism.

  10. A CENP-E mediated wall-tethering event and a MCAK (show KIF2C Proteins)-mediated wall-removing event show that human chromosome-microtubule attachment is achieved through a set of deterministic sequential events rather than stochastic direct capture of microtubule ends.

CENPE Protein Profile

Protein Summary

Centrosome-associated protein E is a kinesin-like motor protein that accumulates in the G2 phase of the cell cycle. Unlike other centrosome-associated proteins, it is not present during interphase and first appears at the centromere region of chromosomes during prometaphase. CENPE is proposed to be one of the motors responsible for mammalian chromosome movement and/or spindle elongation.
