Antigen
Alternative Name ASPP1 (PPP1R13B Antibody Abstract)
Background ASPP1 (Apoptosis-stimulating of p53 protein 1, Protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 13B, PPP1R13B) plays a central role in regulating apoptosis via its interaction with p53. ASPP1 acts on p53 by enhancing the DNA binding and transactivation function of p53 on the promoters of proapoptotic genes in vivo. The expression of ASPP1 is frequently downregulated in human breast carcinomas expressing wild-type p53 but not mutant p53.
