GFP Traps®, RPF Traps® and Nanotraps®

GFP Traps ® and RFP Traps ® from ChromoTek are perfect tools for a quick and efficient execution of studies utilizing fluorescence proteins. These tools are small, chemically stable and free of production related variations. Hence they are superior to conventional antibodies.

antibodies-online.com offers a range of nanotraps with GFP- and RFP coupling. As matrix materials magnetite particles as well as agarose beads are available.

The mode of action of GFP Traps® and RPF Traps® is based on a simple idea. A matrix of, for instance, spherical magnetite nano-particles acts as anchor to a number of green-fluorescent proteins (GFP). GFPs release a green light after radiation with ultraviolet light. The GFPs in turn are coupled to specifically binding antibody-fragments. These complex-particles can be applied in a number of ways, in order to label proteins and observe them, for instance directly in vivo on their way through the living cell.
