Antigen
Alternative Name NFATC2/NFAT1 (NFAT1 Antibody Abstract)
Background The nuclear factor of activated T-cells (NFAT) transcription complex is required for theexpression of a group of proteins that collectively regulate the immune response. FourNFAT proteins, encoded on separate genes and expressed as several splice variants, have been described: NFAT1, NFAT2, NFAT3, and NFAT4. These proteins show a lowlevel of sequence similarity with the Dorsal/Rel/NFkB family of transcription factors.Another NFAT-related protein termed NFAT5 differs from isoforms 1-4 in that it lacksmany of the Fos/Jun contact sites observed in its predecessors and its subcellularlocalization is not calcineurin-dependent. Alternate Names: Anti-NFATc antibody, anti-NFATc1 antibody, anti-NFATc2 antibody, anti-NFATc3antibody, anti-NFATp antibody, anti-NFATx antibody.
Gene Symbol: NFATC2
Gene ID 4773, 18019, 311658
Pathways RTK Signaling, WNT Signaling, TCR Signaling, Fc-epsilon Receptor Signaling Pathway

Application Notes By WB this antibody detects an approx. 140 kDa protein representing phosphorylated NFAT1 in resting immune cells, and an approx. 120 kDa protein in stimulated cells that represents fully-dephosphorylated NFAT1. This antibody may be useful in Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (PMID: 15347678).
Recommended dilutions: Gel Super Shift Assays 1:1-1:100, Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence 1:100-1:1000, Immunohistochemistry 1:10-1:500, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin 1:100-1:1000, Immunoprecipitation 1:10-1:500, Sandwich ELISA, Western Blot 1 µg/mL

Buffer PBS, Sodium Azide
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze-thaw cycles
Storage -20 °C
Storage Comment -20 °C.
