Application Notes
-
Neutralization: To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity ofhFGF-acidic (30 ng/mL), a concentration of 0.46 - 0.9 μg/mL of this antibody is required. ELISA: To detect hFGF-acidic by direct ELISA (using 100 l/well antibody solution) aconcentration of at least 0.5 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinitypurified antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detectionof 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hFGF-acidic. Western Blot: To detect hFGF-acidic by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at aconcentration of 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagentsthe detection limit for recombinant hFGF-acidic is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing ornon-reducing conditions.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. -

Background
- The heparin-binding growth factors are angiogenic agents in vivo and are potent mitogens for a variety of cell types in vitro. There are differences in the tissue distribution and concentration of these two growth factors.Synonyms: Acidic fibroblast growth factor, Beta-endothelial cell growth factor, ECGF-beta, FGFA, HBGF-1, HBGF1, Heparin-binding growth factor 1
