The antibody detects an ~28 kDa band, corresponding to the expected molecular mass of FADD on immunoblots. The antibody specificity is confirmed by specific peptide inhibition in immunoblotting studies.
Purification
Affinity chromatography
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 128 of human FADD
Western Blot: 0.5-4 μg/mL. Based on researcher's feedback, it can also be used in immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
This product contains thimerosal (merthiolate): a POISONOUS AND HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE which should be handled by trained staff only.

Target
FADD
(Fas (TNFRSF6)-Associated Via Death Domain (FADD))
Alternative Name
FADD
Background
Fas-associating death domain containing protein (FADD), also known as mediator of receptor induced toxicity (MORT1), is a 23 kDa cytosolic protein with an apparent molecular weight of 28 kDa on SDS-PAGE. The protein is involved in both Fas and TNF-R induced cell death pathway. FADD specifically binds to Fas to initiate the apoptotic signalling cascade. Overexpression of FADD induces apoptosis.Synonyms: FAS-associated death domain protein, FAS-associating death domain-containing protein, GIG3, Growth-inhibiting gene 3 protein, MORT1, Mediator of receptor induced toxicity
