Characteristics
- Synonyms: rabbit anti-POLM antibody, DNA-directed DNA/RNA polymerase mu , Pol Mu, Terminal transferase, DNA Polymerase Mu antibody, DNA-directed DNA polymerase mu antibody, Pol iota antibody
-
Purification
- This is an affinity purified antibody produced by immunoaffinity chromatography using the immunizing peptide after immobilization to a solid phase.
-
Sterility
- Sterile filtered
-
Immunogen
-
Immunogen: This affinity purified antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic peptide corresponding to aa 6-18 of Human POLM m (DNA polymerase mu). POLM mu is a template-directed terminal deoxynucleotide transferase that shows a preferential expression in proliferating lymphoid cells.

Background
- Background: DNA-directed DNA/RNA polymerase mu (POLM) is a Gap-filling polymerase involved in repair of DNA double-strand breaks by non-homologous end joining (NHEJ). It participates in immunoglobulin (Ig) light chain gene rearrangement in V(D)J recombination. DPOLM has a reduced ability to distinguish dNTP and rNTP as substrates, and elongates them on DNA primer strand with a similar efficiency. It is able to polymerize nucleotides on RNA primer strands.
