Synonyms: Pam/highwire/rpm-1 protein, Phr1, MYC binding protein 2, PAM, Pam, highwire, rpm 1, Protein associated with Myc, Probable E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase MYCBP2, Myc-binding protein 2, Pam/highwire/rpm-1 protein, Protein associated with Myc, MYCB2_HUMAN. Background: MYCBP2 belongs to the highwire family. It is a probable E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase which mediates ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. MYCBP2 may function as a facilitator or regulator of transcriptional activation by MYC and have a role during synaptogenesis. There are two different isoforms.
