Background

Cellular responses induced by the proinflammatory cytokine IL-1 require two subunits of the IL-1 receptor, IL-1 receptor 1 (IL-1R1) and IL-1 receptor accessory protein (IL-1RacP). IL-1RacP forms a complex with IL-1R1 in response to IL-1 treatment.
