- Human PAPP-A subunit. Human PAPP-A antigen purified from placental blood is a heterotetrameric complex (htPAPP-A) consisting of two PAPP-A subunits and two proMBP subunits. Human PAPP-A antigen purified from atherosclerotic plaques is homodimeric (dPAPP-A) consisting of two PAPP-A subunits.
