Western Blotting (WB), Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Sections) (IHC (p))
Specificity
This antibody recognises TACR3 otherwise known as NK3 Receptor (NK3R), a 52.2 kDa multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. This antibody does not recognise NK1R or NK2R.
Purification
Purified
Immunogen
An 18 amino acid peptide from near the centre of Human TACR3.
Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections: 5g/mL, requires antigen retrieval using heattreatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Western Blot: 0.5 - 1.0g/mL, detects a band of approximately 46 kDa in RAW264.7 celllysates. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

TACR3 is a receptor for the tachykinin neuropeptide, neuromedin-k otherwise known as neurokinin B and is highly expressed in the supraoptic and paraventricular nuclei. Following binding of its ligand, NK3R activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system, and it is likely that these signals lead to the release of vasopressin and oxytocin into the circulation. Studies with mice indicate that TACR3 is involved in learning and memory.Synonyms: NK-3 receptor, NK-3R, NK3R, NKR, Neurokinin B receptor, Neuromedin-K receptor, TAC3R
