    Specificity

SP1338P reacts with the Calcitonin Receptor. It recognises an epitope within the cytoplasmic domain that is common to both C1a and C1b Rat isoforms.

    Cross-Reactivity (Details)

Species reactivity (tested):Rat. Cross reacts with Mouse and Human.

    Purification

    Affinity Chromatography on Protein A.

    Immunogen

Synthetic peptide derived from C-terminal sequence of Rat Calcitonin Receptor

    Isotype

    IgG
  • Application Notes

ELISA. Immunohistochemistry on Frozen Sections (1/10-1/50). Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Embedded Tissues (1/10-1/50): The use of 4 % paraformaldehyde fixation rather than formalin fixation is recommended. A sensitivedetection system is also recommended, e. g. a catalysed signal amplification system. Doesnot require protein digestion pre-treatment nor antigen retrieval using heat prior tostaining of paraffin embedded sections. Suitable Positive Control: Kidney, cultered osteoclasts.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

    Calcitonin Receptor (CALCR)

    Alternative Name

    Calcitonin Receptor

    Background

Calcitonin Receptor is a seven transmembrane domain cell surface protein which is coupled to G protein messenger systems. Calcitonin receptor is expressed in kidney, central and peripheral nervous systems and in osteoclasts. It is also expressed in a number of tissues during the development of the embyro and may be important in foetal morphogenesis.Synonyms: CALCR, CT-R, CTR
