Represents an excellent marker for distinguishing carcinomas from all non-epithelial tumors. Specifically reacts with cytokeratins 5 and 8 present in nearly all epithelia. Polypeptide reacting: Mr 52500, Mr 58000 cytokeratins (type II cytokeratins nos. 5+8) of human epithelial cells. Epitope has been mapped to aa353-367 on alpha helical rod domain. Species cross-reactivity: Human, bovine, murine, amphibia, porcine, hydra.

Usage: Suitable for use in ELISA, FACS and Immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue and cytological material, Pretreatment With paraffin embedded sections, protease pretreatment is required prior to antibody application). Immunohistochemistry: 1:10-1:20, Incubation Time 1hr at RT, extended with paraffin sections (overnight at 2-8?C). The applications listed have been tested for the unconjugated form of this product. Other forms have not been tested.
