    C-Term

    Specificity

This antibody is specific to SUMO (C-term).

    Purification

Protein G Chromatography, eluted with high and low pH buffers and neutralized immediately, followed by dialysis against PBS.

    Immunogen

This antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide selected from the C-terminal region of Drosophila SUMO1.

  • Application Notes

ELISA: 1/1,000. Western blot: 1/100-1/500 (See also Ref.1).
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

    Restrictions

    For Research Use only
  • Format

    Liquid

    Concentration

    0.25 mg/mL

    Buffer

PBS containing 0.09 % (W/V) Sodium Azide as preservative

    Preservative

    Sodium azide

    Precaution of Use

WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.

    Handling Advice

    Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

    Storage

    4 °C/-20 °C

    Storage Comment

Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8 °C for one month or (in aliquots) at-28 °C for longer.
  • Target

SUMO1 (Small Ubiquitin Related Modifier Protein 1 (SUMO1))

    Alternative Name

    SMT3

    Background

Covalent modification of target lysines by SUMO (small ubiquitin-like modifier) modulates processes such as protein localization, transcription, nuclear transport, mitosis, DNA replication and repair, signal transduction, and viral reproduction. SUMO does not seem to be involved in protein degradation and may in fact function as an antagonist of ubiquitin in the degradation process. In the development of Drosophila, SUMO plays a maternal role in anterior-posterior (A/P) polarity and patterning.Synonyms: SMT-3, Ubiquitin-like protein SMT3
