Binding Specificity
- pTyr215
-
Specificity
- This antibody detects Src pTyr215. Predicted to cross react with Mouse (100 % Antigen Homology).
-
Purification
- Protein G Affinity Chromatography. Then, the antibody fraction is peptide affinity purified in a 2-step procedure with control and phosphorylated peptides. The phospho-specific antibody is eluted with high and low pH buffers and neutralized immediately, followed by dialysis against PBS.
-
Immunogen
- This antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Y215 of human Src.

Background
- This gene is highly similar to the v-src gene of Rous sarcoma virus. This proto-oncogene may play a role in the regulation of embryonic development and cell growth. The protein encoded by this gene is a tyrosine-protein kinase whose activity can be inhibited by phosphorylation by c-SRC kinase. Mutations in this gene could be involved in the malignant progression of colon cancer. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. Transcript Variant: This variant (1) represents the longer transcript. Both isoforms 1 and 2 encode the same protein.Synonyms: Proto-oncogene c-Src, Proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase Src, c-Src, pp60c-src
