Background: Secretion of the contents of cytolytic granules at the immunologic synapse is a highly regulated process essential for lymphocyte cytotoxicity. Munc 13-4 localises with cytotoxic granules at the immunologic synapse. Munc 13-4 is essential for the priming step of cytolytic granule secretion preceding vesicle membrane fusion.
