Specificity
- Recognizes mitosin, a 350 kD phosphoprotein that is specifically involved in mitotic-phase progression. Mitosin is expressed throughout S, G2, and M phases of the cell cycle, but is absent in G0 and G1. It associates with the mitotic apparatus during M-phase and is redistributed from the nucleus to the centromere, spindle, and midbody during M-phase progression. Its usefulness as a proliferation marker is under active investigation.

Application Notes
-
Approved: IHC, IHC-Fr (10 μg/mL), IHC-P (10 μg/mL), IP (1 - 10 μg/mL), WB (1 - 10 μg/mL)
Usage: Immunohistochemistry: This antibody was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. The stained slides were evaluated by a pathologist to confirm staining specificity. The optimal working concentration for this antibody was determined to be 10 μg/mL. Western Blot: 1-10 μg/mL. Immunoprecipitation: 1-10 μg/mL. Immunohistochemistry: 10 μg/mL with frozen or paraffin-embedded sections. Tested in IHC using formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human tissues, HIER antigen retrieval using sodium citrate buffer at pH 6.0. -
