Background
TRH-R (Thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) receptors are Gq/11-protein-coupled receptors) is a member of G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. This is a thyrotropin-releasing hormone receptor. When it binds to TRH, it activates the inositol phospholipid-calcium-protein kinase C transduction pathway. TRH-R also interacts with ACP2acid phosphatase 2. Its expression found mainly in cerebrum, testis during developmental stage. Literature suggests that endogenous TRH and TRH receptor play an important role of a neurotransmission modulation in the brain to control emotional and mental functions.
