Application Notes
- This antibody strongly inhibits HIV-1 gp120-binding to CD4, which blocks HIV infectivity of CD4+ T lymphocytes, as well as the binding of MHCII, which results in the block of T-cell activation (possibly leading to anergy induction) (Qin et al., 2001, PMID: n/a). Additionally, antibody binding to CD4 leads to GM-CSF, TNF-α and IL-10 induction. (TNF-α induction only occurs after 20 hours.)
