    Supplier

    Rockland

    Purpose

    Connexin 43 phospho S368 Antibody

    Cross-Reactivity (Details)

    Anti-Connexin 43 pS368 antibody is directed against rat pS368 Connexin 43

    Purification

.Anti-Connexin 43 pS368 antibody was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using phospho peptide coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) against non-phospho peptide and non-specific peptide to remove any unwanted reactivities.

    Immunogen

Anti-Connexin 43 pS368 Antibody was produced in rabbit by repeated immunizations with synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Ser368 conjugated to KLH.

    Isotype

    IgG

    ELISA_Dilution: 1:10,000

    Western_Blot_Dilution: 1:1000

    Comment

Anti-Connexin 43 pS368 Antibody has been tested in western blot and is suitable for use in ELISA. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band at approximately 43 kDa in size corresponding to connexin 43 protein phosphorylated at Ser368 in the appropriate cell lysate or extract.

  • Target

    Connexin 43/GJA1 (GJA1) (Gap Junction Protein, alpha 1, 43kDa (GJA1))

    Alternative Name

    Connexin 43

    Background

Synonyms: Gap junction alpha-1 protein, Gap junction 43 kDa heart protein, CX43

Background: Anti-Connexin 43 pS368 Antibody detects pS368 Connexin which is thought to play a key role in development and may also be involved in epilepsy. Connexin 43 antibody recognizes Connexin43 which forms gap-junctional channels and regulates the permeability of these gap junctions to small organic molecules. Permeability of connexin43 is known to be regulated by phosphorylation at Ser368 by protein kinase C. Phosphorylation of Ser368 by PKC induces a conformational change of connexin 43 that results in a decrease in gap junction permeability. Anti-Connexin 43 pS368 Antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Neuroscience and Cell Signaling.
