The Rabbit Polyclonal anti-TGFA antibody (ABIN7217296) specifically detects TGFA in IHC, WB, IF and ELISA.
The antibody is reactive with Human, Rat, Mouse and Monkey samples.
Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator. Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: WB 1:500-1:2000,IHC 1:100-1:300,ELISA 1:10000,IF 1:50-200

Background
TGFA, Protransforming growth factor alphaTGFA encodes a growth factor that is a ligand for the epidermal growth factor receptor, which activates a signaling pathway for cell proliferation, differentiation and development. Protransforming growth factor alpha may act as either a transmembrane-bound ligand or a soluble ligand. This gene has been associated with many types of cancers, and it may also be involved in some cases of cleft lip/palate. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
