This Rabbit Polyclonal antibody specifically detects Tryptophan Hydroxylase 1 in WB, ELISA, IHC and IF. It exhibits reactivity toward Human, Mouse and Rat.
Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator. Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: WB 1:500-1:2000,IHC 1:100-1:300,IF 1:200-1:1000,ELISA 1:20000,Not yet tested in other applications.

Background
TPH1, TPH, TPRH, TRPH, Tryptophan 5-hydroxylase 1, Tryptophan 5-monooxygenase 1TPH1 encodes a member of the aromatic amino acid hydroxylase family. The tryptophan 5-hydroxylase 1 catalyzes the first and rate limiting step in the biosynthesis of serotonin, an important hormone and neurotransmitter. Mutations in this gene have been associated with an elevated risk for a variety of diseases and disorders, including schizophrenia, somatic anxiety, anger-related traits, bipolar disorder, suicidal behavior, addictions, and others.
