Purpose
- CD271 Unconjugated Antibody
-
Characteristics
- The clone ME20.4, a mouse monoclonal antibody selectively binds with a ~75 kD type I transmembrane protein known as CD271. It is also known as the nerve growth factor receptor (NGFR) and a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) superfamily. Various cell types express CD271 including neuronal axons, Schwann cells, mesenchymal stem cells, epithelial cells, etc. Increased levels of CD271 were observed in brain metastatic melanoma cells and in lung-metastasizing melanoma cells. It is a transmembrane signaling receptor involved in negative cell cycle regulation and is specific for neural crest origin.
