Background
- Background: Dicer is one of three human RNase III enzymes (Drosha, Dicer, and Argonaute) that plays a diverse role in the processing and maturation of RNA. Dicer is involved in processing pre-cursor mRNAs into both microRNAs (miRNAs) and short interfering RNAs (siRNAs) for the gene-silencing pathways of RNA interference (RNAi). Dicer interacts with Argonaute 2 (Ago2) and TRBP (TAR RNA-binding protein).
